Traditional 5- and 10-panel cups did not track fentanyl, but the overdose crisis pushed most 12-panel-plus cups and addiction/pain programs to add a FEN strip at ~1 ng/mL — extremely sensitive compared with legacy drugs.
Occupational incidental exposure (first responders, veterinary handling) has produced documented low-level positives; programs increasingly pair results with exposure logs.
